Pre-Payment Meter

If you have to top-up your meter and you live with an impairment that means your health would be damaged by your power going off. You can ask your energy company to replace it with a normal meter.

Your Energy supplier cannot move you onto a pre-payment meter if you are in a very vulnerable situation, even if you are in debt. Visit the Ofgem website to find out more.

Priority Service Register

If you are struggling to afford your energy bills, speak to your energy supplier about being added to the Priority Service Register. You will get extra support and cannot be disconnected during winter.

Your supplier’s contact details will be shown on their website as well as on your energy bill.

Energy Advice London is a new advice service for anyone living in London

They provide free, impartial advice to help households save energy and water, access financial support, and manage energy and heating bills.

They offer advice on:

Help with Internet and Phone Bills

  • Broadband Social Tariffs

    If you are struggling to afford broadband costs, these are special discounted deals that start at around £14 per month. They are less subject to rising prices and exit fees. If you are in receipt of benefits you stand a good chance of accessing these options.

    If you are struggling with the cost of your phone bills or have limited access to the internet, you may be able to access: 15GB data and free calls and texts for 30 days; or 20GB per month of Vodaphone data and free calls and texts, for up to six months.
